Daveed Korup and Elizabeth Wilson, who are the Mill Valley Cultural Arts Umbrella’s artists in residence, hosted the MVCAU’s first official Drum Jam at the Antreasian Galley on February 17. Drum Jam, MVCAU’s community drum circle, is the kickoff event for a new program that will bring many different types of drumming events and programs to the Mill Valley.
Drum Jam unveiled two interactive percussion sculptures made by Daveed Korup and Hampden’s own metal sculptor
Jim Pollock soon to be put on display at Port Discovery. These two percussion
sculptures will be on display at the Antresian Gallery for the next couple of weeks. The mission of the Mill Valley Cultural Arts Umbrella is to promote local artists, local arts-based programs and local galleries in the Mill Valley and surrounding
area. With Drum Jam we are achieving this mission. MVCAU members who are interested in developing arts-related programs in Mill Valley should contact Allen Hicks at awh@millvalleyarts.com or call 410-235-2516.
With your help we can make Mill Valley the cultural center of the Baltimore metropolitan region.
