Mill Valley Cultural Arts Umbrella

Welcome to the Mill Valley Cultural Arts Umbrella’s newly updated Blog.  Back in March we launched Umbrella Radio, our internet based streaming radio station, but it was too cumbersome to host the radio station on our website.  Last week we spun off Umbrella Radio into a website of its own, now located at http://www.umbrellaradio.org.  Since we’re still in the final phase designing that website, we decided to do some spring cleaning on our millvalleyarts site as well.  It turned out to be a complete overhaul, with a new community based blogging engine under the hood.

Well, we decided last month to move away from our very beautiful but very stilted Joomla based community site software to a simplistic blog structure.   We made a style decision to create a free-form Arts Blog and cast off that stilted polished shell.  This community software will make it easier for us to post and share information quickly, in a less formalized environment.    

Over the next few days we will iron out all the wrinkles, and expand upon the site’s structure.  By next week all of the Archive files will be transfered and posted to our new Blog as well, a very slow and tedious process. 

You will notice that there are Google Adsense ads on the site.  In these tough economic times we have chosen to host Goggle Ads to defray the expenses of our internet based endevors.  By clicking on our Google Ads, you’re financhially supporting the Mill Valley Cultural Arts Umbrella.  The best part is it doesn’t cost you any money.  So click and support us.  

 The only way to find out what this website  can really do is to set this baby free and iron out the bugs over time.  More news will be posted in time.  In the meantime feel free to run a muck and enjoy yourself on our Beta Test site.
